My One turns off automatically when battery goes under 40%
« on: September 14, 2011, 10:08:59 AM »
Hi everybody.

Since several weeks, something weird is happenning to my One. And I don't know what's really going on. I have two batteries, so I can change the battery for a fully charged one in case I run out of battery.

When the battery percentage goes under 40%, the phone turns itself off, whithout any kind of warning. It looks like the 40% is not really 40% but 0%, and the system realizes that battery is low, so it turns off the phone. I plug the phone in the USB port of my computer in order to charge it again, and I turn it on. When it has booted, the battery is at 0%. When it is fully charged, I use it again, until it arrives at 40%, and the same thing happens again. I've tried to recalibrate the battery, but to no avail. It happens the same with both batteries.

Maybe batteries are damaged?

Can someone please suggest a solution?

Thanks in advance.

What rom are you using?
You can try to reboot in re covery, under advanced section, wipe battery stats.

Hi, thanks for that fast answer!

I'll try that solution, my ROM is Cyanogenmod 7.1.0 RC1.

By the way, should I wait until it is fully charged before wiping battery stats?.

Thanks.

Hi

I am having exactly the same problem, shut off at 40% and after a few moments of charge and powering up, it reads as 0%.

I did wipe battery stats a week ago and after a few cycles of charge/discharge, the problem is still there. Any ideas?

the only way out is  to change battery. or as a last chance:

In the spanish forum we remarked the same problem and finally we solved it with a new battery. (The old one was over one and a half year old)

Now it works as before.

Hi, that's a very interesting hack. And I like a lot making this sort of hacks. Unfortunately, I can't understand Russian, even using google translate it's difficult to understand. Can you please provide some explanation about this mod or an URL in English?. What I mainly don't understand is the PCB next to the battery, and where it can be purchased.

Thanks a lot.

It's the PCB from original battery (you need to dissemble your old one)
