v2.2 tested
« on: February 19, 2015, 12:55:41 PM »
Okay, I must confess: I'm a geek and had a look at v2.2 (dated 18.2.2015).

The Good: The browser has a private mode, you get a clipboard with cut&paste and notifications on the lock screen. You can record videos but photos are still stuck at 5 MPixel.

The Bad: The home screen and other areas aren't always redrawn and the German translation is plain Englisch (French works, though). Playing the ringtones sounds quite messy.

The Ugly: While using the webbrowser the phone gets warm and the battery drains fast. Don't expect stability, my first crash came within six minutes.

That sounds pretty nasty :(
But the good thing is that there is PLENTY of time for mozilla/GP to fix these issues.
Judging from the current roadmap (https://wiki.mozilla.org/B2G/Roadmap) they expanded their release cycle for FFOS by 2 month.
And lets not forget, that even 2.0 isn't officially released yet.

I also had this bug while playing with the 2.2: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1135307

It seems that nearly all languages are missing (valid for keon and peak v2.2 images).
I tested some different languages but french seem to be the only one which is included, at least partly.
Geeksphone, can you please have a look at this?
