External Micro SD card not used by GP Revolution
« on: March 31, 2015, 04:12:35 PM »
Hello,

My GP Revolution has an external SD card. It is mounted and I can store files in it, for example by running  "adb shell", and then i see the files from File Explorer app (the mount point is /storage/sdcard_ext).

However, the smartphone seems to ignore the external storage. All the apps store its data in the internal storage (/storage/emulated/0). In addition i only see the internal storage when i connect the smartphone using the USB cable.

Is this normal? Is it possible to make apps to use the external Micro SD?

The GP Revolution is running Android 4.2.2

Thank you in advance for your answers.

Thanks,

I can really use the external SD from any app that allows me to select the path where their files will be stored. For example, using Turbo Editor to edit files, i can edit files from /storage/sdcard_ext (in other words, the external sd)

However, by default all apps store their files in the internal sd. The Camera app (stock camera), does not allows me to select the target device for pictures. Also when i connect the USB to the PC, the internal sd is exported through mtp, but the external sd is not visible.
I have just seen some Android devices where default storage location can be selected in Settings -> Storage. But not in my GP Revolution

Of course i can live with that, but it seems estrange to me.

Best regards.
