Anyone got the market on the stock rom working ? It just seams to be impossible.  :'( Extremely frustrating !

Why isn't there a working market out of the box ??

Market worked for me with the stock rom (over Wifi). I'm now on cyanogenmod 7.0.2. Works there too.

I'm wondering if it could have someting to do with the "3g" instead of "H".

But market with 3g DID work with my tattoo....

I managed to download swift again. But that the only thing I managed to download before the market goes "boom" on me. I'm beginning to be be afraid that the zéro don't handle my operator's data that well...

oh! The market says Shazam is not compatible. What the !???
I am not an happy camper there...

Well, using wi-fi, it works. I now know it's a 3G problem :(.

Going to install Cyanogen. And hope it works.

I'm happy to repport my geeksphone works ok with the cyanogen :)

So, whatever's the casue of the anoyance with 3g, it's sofware related.
I'm using Virgin mobile, orange MVNO. If I can help in anyway to fix this problem on the stock rom, give me a sign.

I thought to translate the spanish tutorial by aitorTheRed in case someone really needs it and google translations are quite confusing. I'm sure somebody will properly translate tomorrow. So here are the first steps of the tutorial by aitorTheRed (which is not yet finished):

- Install google apps from Stock Rom Froyo 2.2.1 using recovery mode
Download the google apps from
http://www.geeksphone.com/zerohome/gapps-mdpi-tiny-20101020-signed-froyo.zip
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=VGK177D7
and save them in the SD card. Now open the ROM Manager and choose "reboot in recovery mode". Within recovery, you can browse the different options using the Volume button (up/down) and select one by pressing HOME.
Once in the recovery menu, choose the option "apply update from SDcard" and then the option "choose zip from SDcard". Search for the file you've just downloaded and confirm your selection by pressing the HOME button. Now go back to the main menu using the back key (arrow) and choose "reboot". Once the phone starts, it should ask you to set a Google account (Gmail). The Market app won't appear until you set an account and so you'll need an internet connection (wireless or 3G) for this last step.

Many thanks. Invaluable help.

Use Titanium Backup to back-up and restore your applications. Do not restore settings. It can lead to serious problems if you restore froyo settings in a gingerbread ROM.

well, it means it is limited for the gingerbread version? Right? If I am using a version 2.2 then is this applicable to this version also?

First off:

Have they ever taken it to the mic?

But seriously tell us the full story.
Did you know about the aliens beforehand or did they contact you?
