battery charge level
« on: April 29, 2011, 10:37:52 PM »
Hello,

I have a question about the charge level after charging.

When i unplugged the phone from charge this morning (after 6 hour )  the charge level drop from 100% to 84%.

I'm using cyanogen rom.

I charge the battery 3 tomes since i received the phone.

Is it due to battery first charge or something wrong with cyanogen ?

Thx.

I had something similar this morning. The battery dropped to a low level after a couple of minutes of use, after putting it on the charger for about a minute the indicator was correct once more.

I think it's a bug or glitch in CyanogenMod?

battery indicators are not always accurate.
I was worried about the battery indicator too.  It seems that it gets better after a couple (6-7) charge/discharge.  (It is actually better, but I change/tweak/customize so much these days that I do not know what makes things better/worse.   :D

:-\  It has been charging all night long but got a warning after unplugging saying "battery low 15%.  So was saying the indicator: 15%.  After a reboot, it now says 50%...

I had some erratic reboot and battery indicator glitches with CM7.0.2, and had just rolled back to CM7.0.0(rc4) (Just to give it a try and because it is so easy on a Zero  8)).  It obviously does not fix the battery indicator/charge issue.  Let's upgrade to CM7.0.2 again (click click and off it goes)  :)

Let's hope that it just does not feck up the battery.

Great toy though !!!    :-*

I've the same weird issues with the battery. After being charging all night long, battery indicator still says 20%. My ROM is Cyanogenmod 7.0.2 and it's the third time I've charged the batttery.

¿Any suggestions?

Second last charge not succesfull either.  Charge level never went over 67% and dropped to 50% in about 30 seconds after unplugging.  I managed to play with the Zero the whole day with WiFi ON ...  To me, it looks like an indicator issue more than a physical battery charge issue.

Latest charge did not pose any particular problem.  Using latest CM nightly buil (Zero-full-57).  Charge level indicator currently says: 99%.

I've got a similar issue.
My battery level is blocked to 26% after hours of charging (with wall charger then PC USB cable).

In the battery information, in spare parts , the voltage is wrong : 3 mV

I hope this bug will not damage the battery, because it doesn't disable the charge when the battery is full. The battery could be in overheat if the charge is not disabled.

For information, I use Cyanogen 7.0.2

has this bug been transmitted to cyanogen team ?

Does someone tried a nightly build of cyanogen to see if the bug is fixed ?

I will perhaps try with the factory froyo image.

So, battery indicator is total off ?

My zero refused to start. Plugging the usb cable revived it, much to my relief. Battery indicator says 46%, hinting the zero didn't go off because of battery, but....
Else, it have noting to do with power, and the zero began booting without displaying the boot screen, as the fist thing I saw was the cyanogen screen. That scared the hell out of me, I though my zero was totally broken.

Any log or something on the zero to help tell what actually happened ?

I didn't found how to backup to stock ROM (Froyo). I've made a backup the first time I've used ROM manager but I can't find it.
If someone knows how to do it, please append this topic.

Is it possible to provide this ROM image to the web site ?

I've added a post on cyanogen website :

Well done. Besides this, I think you should take a look at the Issue Tracker in order to look for a similar problem.
In case that there is no issue about that, may be you should open a new one: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/list

Kind regards

There is an issue on CM/ that the Zero wakes up when off and charging. You should NOT let the Zero turn on by itself.
Simply charge it when it's on :)

Javier, could you please tell us the issue number (I've made a search but I've NOT found it)??
I would like to "starre it", I mean, to vote for it and being notified by email if it changes.
I would like to have all ZERO related issues starraed by me....

Thanks in advance

...

The backup should be in your SD card, under Clockworkmod directory.
