Hi!

How to

Repo synchronization based on "how to" does not work for me. Instead of this:

    repo sync http://github.com/gpdroid/revo_android.git -b cm-11.0

I had to sync in 2 steps:

     repo init -u http://github.com/gpdroid/revo_android.git -b cm-11.0
     repo sync

Best Regards,
Zoli

Hey CM11 users! (somebody out there??  :) )

Lastest CM11 nightly build is 20150608 (08 june 2015) !!  :(
(no more nightlies apparently since GP has abandoned all development for our device...)

---------------------------------------------
EDIT : Stagefright vulnerability

according to this tool It seems that GP's latest nightly is not vulnerable??? Can somebody confirm?
I find it strange since this nightly does not contain the patches  :o

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.zimperium.stagefrightdetector
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So,

I am in the process of building an updated build, with patches to fix the infamous Stagefright ( :o ) bugs...

There are patches on CM's github regarding these :

https://github.com/CyanogenMod/android_frameworks_av/commits/cm-11.0

So, I have fully synced the CM11 sources on my computer (following GP's guide in the 1st post of this thread) but I can see that the patches are still *NOT* applied!?

EDIT : OK I get it : GP's revo_android manifest uses the old "stable/cm-11.0" branch, but only the "cm-11.0" has got the patches  :)

I'm no git/diff wizard so I'll modify files by hand (yes I know not a good practice)

the goal is to obtain an updated (and safer  :P) CM11 build

BTW some of the patches provided by GP in the cm11_patches directory fail to fully apply right now (seems to be easily fixable)

STAY TUNED!  :)

Great news!!!  :D

Meanwhile I have been testing my build since a few days.

Two small issues :

- I lost the "install other OS / install google apps" in the settings/about menu (I don't use Google apps anyway)
- Since some change upstream (AOSP), writing to the ext SD card is not possible by default (from CM explorer, camera app...). But it is easily fixable.

Thats sounds good!

@agentsteel will you share the modified source after you're done?
It would be very useful for the FxOS2.2 community project (since FxOS for revolution is based on CM11).

Also it sounds like you have a idea about mobile OS development, would you be interrested in updating FxOS or help with modifing CM11 to make it work with FxOS2.2?

PS: The community project just started and we still looking for more people to help!
Many people would like to see FirefoxOS 2.2 on GP Revolution, but sadly GP won't deliver it, so it's up to US to update FirefoxOS. Do you have programming knowledge and would like to help us? Check this thread or PM me!

@ agentsteel, Super@tmel: Nice work guys  :)

I've called up all the interested users to flash your build and to report bugs  8)

As Benny said, we search for dedicated developers for the community project. Are you two interested in being the "responsibles" / the contact persons for the CM-chapter?  :)

If you need any help, just let us know in the "main thread":
http://forum.geeksphone.com/index.php?topic=6520.msg66822#msg66822

EDIT: I asked Rodrigo to pin this thread to the others on top of the page, so it will be easier to find your build  ;)

Hey, lots of good information here. Do you have your updated source published? When available I can test it out on my revolution.

Unfortunately I have no free time at the moment  :'(

I haven't been able to find any updated source from superatmel or agentsteel.

I've only found one patch made by superatmel in the GP source: https://github.com/gpdroid/revo_android/commit/10e15fd4471ab0389a228dfbbd4f19e60edf7508

No point in building the old GP source.
